Market Overview

United States of America Stone Import Market

The United States is the world's largest decorative landscape stone market, with wholesale stone importers, landscape supply distributors, and garden center chains creating year-round demand for calibrated pebbles, cobbles, river stones, and glazed gravels. Luxora Stone exports to the USA through established B2B relationships with stone wholesalers and landscape supply companies on both the East and West Coasts. All our US-bound shipments use ISPM-15 heat-treated wooden pallets mandatory under USDA APHIS regulations, and we supply all required agricultural inspection documentation to ensure smooth USDA/APHIS port clearance.

The US decorative landscape stone market is served by a network of regional wholesale stone distributors, garden center chains (such as Home Depot and independent landscape suppliers), and specialty landscape architecture firms. East Coast ports (Baltimore, Savannah) primarily serve the Northeast and Southeast wholesale markets. West Coast ports (Los Angeles Long Beach, Seattle) serve the Western US and Pacific Northwest. The US market's most requested imports from India include white pebbles for zen garden designs, black polished beach pebbles for modern minimalist landscaping, mixed river stones for natural garden beds, and terrazzo aggregates for commercial floor applications. US buyers increasingly source directly from manufacturers rather than through intermediary traders, making direct B2B relationships with Indian exporters like Luxora Stone highly advantageous on price.

Buyer Requirements & Duties

Import Duties

US import duty on decorative stones (HTS 2515/2516) is generally 0–2.5% for Indian origin under MFN tariff. No Section 301 tariffs apply to Indian natural stone. CBP (US Customs and Border Protection) requires formal entry for shipments over $2,500 FOB value.

Documentation Required

Required by US CBP: Commercial Invoice (USD), Packing List, Bill of Lading, Country of Origin declaration, ISPM-15 phytosanitary certificate. ISF (Importer Security Filing / 10+2) must be filed by the US importer 24 hours before vessel departure. USDA APHIS inspection is triggered if wooden packaging is not ISPM-15 certified.
